Louder Than Life Is Now the Biggest Rock Festival in America

Louisville may be the festival capitol of America, having just completed three straight weekends of major music events. To top it all off, one of those events, the Louder Than Life festival, just drew 128,000 fans over the three days to become the biggest rock festival in the U.S. for 2019.

“What an unbelievable weekend! We’re always striving for a bigger show, a better experience, and I’m thrilled that we broke our DWP attendance record in a city that has become so close to my heart,” says Danny Wimmer, founder of Danny Wimmer Presents. “But we’re not done yet. I can’t wait for 10/10 and our big announcement about 2020.”

The Louder Than Life festival featured some of the biggest acts in rock and metal, with Slipknot, Guns N' Roses and Disturbed headlining the three days. The event also featured the long awaited return to the stage of Staind and sets from such major rock acts as Rob Zombie, Marilyn Manson and A Day to Remember.

The music weekend also featured some memorable moments like a surprise appearance by GWAR during Philip H. Anselmo and the Illegals set and one of the first U.S. shows of the supergroup Deadland Ritual. Plus, with Zombie on hand, there was a large artistic homage to late actor Sid Haig from Zombie's trilogy of films.

As Wimmer stated, a major announcement concerning the 2020 Louder Than Life festival will come on Oct. 10, so stay tuned.
