Last year the team took Beatrice Mompremier out of the University of Miami with the 20th overall pick in the second round. Due to a foot injury and COVID-19, she was waived by the team and later picked up by the Connecticut Sun.

The Sparks haven't won a WNBA championship since 2016, but have qualified for the playoffs 19 times in the last 23 seasons. The addition of Walker could provide this team with a much-needed spark on offense for the upcoming season.
