All of West Alabama was placed under a Winter Weather Advisory on Thursday afternoon and some school systems have decided to close on Friday.

Here is a list of school closings in Tuscaloosa and surrounding areas. We will try to keep this updated as we get more news.

• Bibb County - Closed Friday
• Chilton County Schools - Closed Friday
• Fayette County - Closed Friday
• Greene County - Does not return from holidays until Monday.
• Hale County - Does not return from holidays until Monday.
• Holy Spirit Catholic School - Closed Today
• Jefferson County Schools - Closed Friday
• Lamar County - Closed Friday
• Marion County Schools - Closed Friday
• Marengo County - Has not made a decision yet.
• North River Christian Preschool - Closed Friday
• Pickens County - Does not return from holidays until Monday.
• Shelby County Schools - Closed Friday
• Shelton State Community College: Closed Friday
• Sumiton Christian School - Closed Friday
• Sumter County - No decision yet.
• Tuscaloosa: The Capitol School - Closed Friday
• Tuscaloosa City Schools - Athletic events canceled for Friday and Saturday Night; Classes do not resume until Monday; Central Office closed Friday
• Tuscaloosa County - Does not return from holidays until Monday; Central Office is closed Friday
• Walker County - Closed Friday
• Winfield City Schools - Closed Friday
• Winston County Schools - Closed Friday
• University of Alabama - Closed Friday
• St. Luke UMC Daycare - Closed Friday
