Make Lavender Bath Salt for Simple, Affordable, and Fun DIY Christmas Presents [PHOTOS]
If you're searching for a fun, fast, and simple DIY Christmas project, you're in luck; my Homemade Lavender Bath Salt can be made in less than ten minutes AND for less than ten bucks!
Christmas is just days away, so when it comes to getting those gifts prepared or purchased THE HEAT IS ON. If your life is anything like mine, you're in high gear now until December 25--there's shopping to be done, cakes to be made, and presents to be wrapped... in addition to all your regular adult responsibilities like working, taking care of the kids, cleaning the house, and blah, blah, blah... free time? What free time?
Your whacked-out (and maxed out) schedule may have you thinking there is NO WAY you have time to make homemade gifts for friends and family this year--but I am here to set you straight: YOU CAN MAKE HOMEMADE GIFTS, and you can make them faster than you can cook dinner.
Lavender Bath Salt is super easy to make. You'll need Epsom Salt and Lavender Essential Oil; you can make your salt fancier by adding dried lavender buds and an additional moisturizer (I used Almond Oil). I mixed the ingredients in a large bowl and then poured the salt back into the carton; this made it easier to pour the salt into glass bottles and jars.
You can purchase jars or other containers for your salt, or you can be a baller on a budget like me and re-use empty glass jars. I used (clean) jars that I'd saved throughout the year; salsa, spaghetti sauce, olives, it's all fair game. After I bottled the salts, I decorated the bottles with ribbons and bows. I even added a special gift tag to each one--a gift tag I made using plain ol' index cards and Sharpies.
MAN. JUST LOOK AT THAT GIFT. It looks like I spent some major cheddar purchasing pricey bath salt from the fancypants store, but NOPE: I made it.
Making Lavender Bath Salt is so simple; it would be a fun project for the kids. They can help mix, bottle, and decorate; these little bath salts would make a great teacher present... just saying... Here's another idea: add additional almond or coconut oil to the salts to create a salt scrub that's perfect for exfoliating dry skin in the cold winter months.
See? You can make homemade gifts this year! Lavender Bath Salt is easy, affordable, and fun. Try making a batch tonight!
