After a slow start in the Cotton Bowl, the Alabama offense had a big second half en route to a 38-0 win over Michigan State.

The Crimson Tide's quarterback Jake Coker played one of his best games of the season, completing 25 of 30 passes for 286 yards and two touchdowns. Offensive coordinator Lane Kiffin talked about his performance after the game.

"He made some mistakes early in the game but then came back to make some big plays," Kiffin said. "Some plays that Jake and the receivers did not make early in the year, they're making now and that's why we're obviously a better team."

Coker's main target against Michigan State was freshman Calvin Ridley, who finished the night with eight catches for 138 yards and two touchdowns.

"(Ridley) changed the whole game," Kiffin said. "Whenever you have a premiere receiver, it changes the way people play you and call the game. Fortunately he's only a freshman so he can't leave us yet."
