Katherine Webb to Make Appearance at Regions Tradition

Katherine Webb, the very lady who made headlines at the BCS National Championship Game between Alabama and Notre Dame, will be making a special appearance at the Regions Tradition at Shoal Creek. I wonder if Brent Musburger is a golf fan?

The Regions Tradition, a major championship on the PGA TOUR’s Champions Tour for professional golfers aged 50 plus, is a premier event in Birmingham, and Sports Illustrated model Katherine Webb plans to help make it the social event of the season, helping bring the younger crowd out to support Children’s of Alabama.

Webb, who skyrocketed to fame at the 2013 BCS national championship game, will attend the tournament at Shoal Creek on Friday, June 7 and be involved in some creative and unique activities on site. She will meet and greet fans and interact with them via Twitter, interview a Champions Tour player in the media center and engage in a putting contest.

Webb will also pose for photos with fans in the hope they will make a donation to Children’s of Alabama, the primary charitable beneficiary of the tournament.

"I'm honored to have been asked to help promote this year's Regions Tradition among younger fans. This event does so much good for our community, particularly Children's Hospital of Alabama, so I readily agreed to do all I could to help highlight this great event," said 24-year-old Webb.

Webb gained national attention during the 2013 BCS national championship game telecast when announcer Brent Musburger discussed her during the broadcast while her image was on screen as she watched the game in the audience. Webb went on to cover Super Bowl XLVII for the television news program Inside Edition and landed a spot as a contestant on the ABC reality show Splash. Webb also appeared as a model, and was featured on the cover, in the 2013 edition of the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue.

The Regions Tradition has generated more than $1.4 million for Children’s of Alabama and Birmingham area charities since 2011.
