Josh Gad Tried to Ask Daisy Ridley About ‘The Last Jedi,’ and She Was Not Having It
With this week’s title reveal, Star Wars fever is back, and tons of people are weighing in on who they think “the last jedi” is. Or are. Even some of the stars who aren’t in the movie want to know the answer, and Josh Gad took it upon himself to try to find out from Daisy Ridley herself what that mysterious title means. Spoiler alert: he didn’t get an answer.
Gad posted the video of the encounter on the set of Murder on the Orient Express, in which they both star. Ridley is clearly NOT HAVING IT.
You can tell it’s taking all of her willpower not to roll her eyes and walk out of his trailer the second he asks about the movie, but she grits her teeth and tries to have a conversation all the same. “I can’t ask you about Frozen 2,” she says, reasonably. Gad tries to barter with her, telling her that if he says Olaf, his snowman character, is in the Disney sequel, then she should at least tell him what her title means. Nope. I can imagine he gets a stern talking-to after the video cuts out.
It’s gotta be frustrating for actors in such a huge franchise to keep getting questions about stuff we all know they can’t talk about. At least Gad’s prank was probably a joke. And hey, we know Olaf will be back!
Hang in there, girl.
Star Wars: The Last Jedi hits theaters December 15.
