A man walking on a highway in Greene County Monday morning was fatally struck by a vehicle, Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Troopers have said.

Reginal King, a spokesperson for the Troopers in west Alabama, said the victim was 59-year-old Eddie J. Winters of Pritchard, Alabama.

King said Winters was walking US Highway 11 outside Eutaw, Alabama when he was struck by a Toyota Avalon around 4:20 a.m. Monday

The Toyota was being driven by a 54-year-old Tuscaloosa man

Winters was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The crash occurred on U.S. 11 near the 47 mile marker, approximately two miles north of Eutaw, in Greene County.

ALEA did not have more information to share Monday evening.
