Police in Tuscaloosa County are investigating a shooting at the Mercedes Benz U.S. International plant in Vance Wednesday that did not result in any injuries.

Captain Jack Kennedy of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit said TCSO deputies and the VCU were called to the plant Wednesday evening on a reported shooting in the parking lot.

Kennedy said an occupied vehicle was shot into multiple times, but the occupant or occupants inside were not injured.

UPDATE, 7:45 a.m. Thursday: Kennedy told local media an arrest has been made in this case. 

Kennedy said two people were inside the vehicle in question when it was shot multiple times. He said that no one was injured was miraculous.

Kennedy said one of the would-be victims had been in a disagreement with 21-year-old Zachory Broom that resulted in a physical fight in the parking lot of the plant after their shifts ended.

After the fight, Broom went to his vehicle in a different parking area, drove back and found the victims in their own car before opening fire, shooting the vehicle serval times and fleeing the scene.

Later Wednesday, Broom was located by police in Jefferson County and arrested. Broom was charged with 2 counts of attempted murder and one count of discharging into an occupied vehicle, with a combined bond of $95,000.
