Chamber of Commerce of West Alabama COO and West AlabamaWorks! Executive Director Donny Jones said the hiring event is necessary for the economic security of the community and city.

"For communities, these opportunities mean that policy and business leaders can plan for and recover from economic transitions by supporting workforce-development activities that prepare eligible participants for good jobs in high-demand occupations aligned with state, regional, or community economic-development strategy," Jones said.

During the event, attendees will be able to learn tips, receive resume assistance, and learn skills needed to apply for jobs with confidence. Attendees are welcome to bring resumes for review, however they are not required to attend.

The event will take place at the Robert H. Young Community Center, located at 720 Greensboro Avenue in Eutaw from 1 p.m. until 4 p.m.
