Alabama State Troopers Vie for Votes in America’s Best-Looking Cruiser Contest
Alabama State Troopers are asking for votes in a contest to name the best-looking highway patrol cruiser in America.
Winners of the contest are displayed in the American Association of State Troopers, and proceeds benefit scholarships for the dependents of association members.
Though the sight of one of their new Dodge Challengers may be an unwelcome sight for anyone going a little too fast on Alabama's highways and interstates, the Troopers hope to earn enough votes to land in the calendar.
In a media release, the Troopers said this year's entry was shot in front of the USS Alabama battleship in Mobile.
"This revered battleship serves as a poignant reminder of the state's significant contribution to the nation's defense and maritime legacy," the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said. "Flying over the new cruiser and distinguished battleship is a Bell 407 helicopter part of the Agency’s Aviation Unit."
“Each year, we look forward to participating in the National Best-Looking Cruiser Contest, it’s a friendly competition between state agencies and engages citizens to support and interact with law enforcement in a positive way," said ALEA Secretary Hal Taylor. "We often look for locations or iconic scenes that reflect our state and this year we are proud to pay tribute to the enduring legacy of the USS Alabama and the brave men and women who served aboard this great battleship.”
Voting is public, began on Monday and will end in two weeks on July 29th. Taylor said ALEA and the State Troopers intend to win this year and earn a place on the cover of the 2025 calendar.
