I’m Confused, Who is Actually More Auburn Than Cadillac Williams?
With the controversy surrounding the hiring of Hugh Freeze, the decision to move on from Cadillac Williams is puzzling, even for college football fans.
I know this will be met with some opposition, but please entertain me.
Name One Person that Loves Auburn More than Coach Cadillac…
Who is it?
I’ll wait.
Waiting …
That man loves Auburn.
He has a passion for football.
He has a drive that gives young men the excitement to WANT to win.
He is a leader.
People say the good ole boy network roams only in the south. I beg to differ. It rolls into every corner of the world and every line of business.
Its latest stop was in the south in Auburn, Alabama.
Unpopular Opinion: Did “they,” meaning the Auburn decision makers, even consider Carnell “Cadillac” Williams for the head coach position?
I know this is weird coming from an Alabama fan. But my rule is whenever a team from the Yellowhammer State is playing, I cheer them on when they are not playing against the Crimson Tide; along with schools that I have degrees from like Queens University of Charlotte, Mississippi State, and Bethune-Cookman.
As the head coach, I believe he would have taken a great deal of pride in rebuilding the Auburn football program, strengthening the team to become a formidable competitor and most of all Coach Caddy would have given his heart.
I’m not the only one that feels that way. According to the Auburn Football Facebook Page, the “Welcome HOME, Coach Freeze!” post has close to 7k comments. - Some positive and tons negative.
Coach Caddy, Keep on Changing Lives!
Now, Williams will be Auburn football's Associate Head Coach. I know history is being made here. I just wanted him to get the head coach gig.
I hope that he enjoys this new role but secretly I want an HBCU (Historically Black College and University) or another University to make him a dream job offer where his passion for leadership and knowledge of football is recognized.
I said what I said.
