In addition, this wet pattern prompts the concern of flooding in portions of our coverage areas. “Due to ongoing saturated soil conditions, flooding will be possible at least across the southern third of Central Alabama Sunday through Monday morning,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.

Areas that could be impacted are the counties in the Southern half of Central Alabama along and south of the I-20 corridor. Those in low-lying, poor drainage areas and rivers should pay close attention to the possibility of localized flooding.
