On November 22, 2024, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the West Alabama Women's Clinic ,also known as WAWC ,will host their Thanksgiving Pantry Day to provide food boxes filled with holiday staples. They will also be providing gift cards to purchase additional items.

The goal is to help families enjoy a Thanksgiving meal without the burden of food costs.

“We understand that many families face financial hardships, especially during the holidays,” said Crystina Hughes, LPN, Director of Community Outreach. “Our aim is to help ensure every family can celebrate Thanksgiving without worrying about food.”

Then, on December 20, 2024, also from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM, the Free Toy Store will offer toys for children, ensuring that families can provide gifts for their kids without the financial strain.

“We believe every family should have the chance to make holiday memories, regardless of their financial situation,” Hughes added.

In addition to these holiday events, WAWC Healthcare offers a wide range of essential healthcare services. These include pregnancy verification for Medicaid applicants, prenatal care, miscarriage management, and affordable contraception on a sliding scale. The clinic also provides STI testing and treatment, including HIV services and telehealth options for many services.

WAWC Healthcare remains committed to ensuring that everyone has access to healthcare and holiday support, no matter their financial situation.
