Francine is on the move, and heavy rainfall could occur in our area through Friday. The National Weather Service in Birmingham has prompted a “Flood Watch” due to potential waves of showers and thunderstorms through Friday evening.

“Two to four inches of rain is expected across the watch area, with locally higher amounts of six to nine inches possible due to training thunderstorms,” said the National Weather Service in Birmingham.

Also, “Urban and flash flooding are the main concerns, including significant flash flooding potential in areas impacted by the highest rainfall amounts.”
