Williams Named SEC Freshman of the Week
Ryan Williams is one of the best freshmen in college football, and he is already piling up awards by the SEC.
The Southeastern Conference named freshman Ryan Williams as the SEC Freshman of the Week following a 177-yard and a touchdown performance against the Georgia Bulldogs.
The most notable play made by Williams was the 75-yard touchdown to take the lead back for Alabama.
Williams ended the day with six catches for 177 yards and that staggering touchdown, which ended up being the game-winner for Alabama.
Williams was a highly touted recruit and was down to picking between Alabama and cross-state rival Auburn. Alabama earned the commitment, and the impact of the freshman is already being felt on the field. Williams leads Alabama in receiving yards and receiving touchdowns with 462 and five, respectively.
Williams has a chance to earn the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year award at the end of the season, awarded annually to the best freshman in college football. Williams may have the highest impact of any freshman ever to step on the campus of the University of Alabama.
