Milroe Named SEC Player of the Week
Alabama football went on the road and earned a strong 42-10 win over the Wisconsin Badgers in a game that answered several questions for the Crimson Tide ahead of its September 28 matchup with the Georgia Bulldogs.
Milroe accounted for 271 total yards and five total touchdowns in the win on the road, bringing his touchdown total on the young season to 14. He was recognized for his efforts on Saturday by the SEC, being named SEC Player of the Week alongside Ole Miss quarterback Jaxon Dart.
The SEC said in a release, "Jalen Milroe delivered a stellar performance in Alabama's 42-10 victory at Wisconsin, accounting for five total touchdowns. Milroe completed 12 of 17 passes for 196 yards and three touchdowns, including passes of 31, 26, and 37 yards for his scores through the air. In addition to his passing prowess, he was effective on the ground, rushing for 75 yards and two touchdowns on 14 carries. His rushing touchdowns came from 3 and 10 yards out, and he contributed three key first downs with his legs, showcasing his dual-threat ability and leading the Tide to a commanding win."
Milroe and Alabama will get some rest over the week with a bye, then the biggest game of the young season will come on September 28, when the Crimson Tide take on the Georgia Bulldogs at 6:30 p.m. in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
