Kadyn Proctor Set to Play Saturday
After much speculation of when offensive tackle Kadyn Proctor would return to the lineup for Alabama following a pre-game injury against Western Kentucky, reports are circulating that Proctor will make his season debut against the Wisconsin Badgers.
Matt Zenitz and Alex Scarborough of 247 Sports were the first to report on Proctor's return.
Additionally, it sounds like Proctor has had a strong week of practice following a week of rest, where he missed Alabama's game against South Florida. Left guard Tyler Booker started in his place against the Bulls.
Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer mentioned during the SEC teleconference call on Wednesday that Proctor was close to returning last week, and "turned a corner" towards the end of the week of practice.
On the right side, it is still being determined who will be the full-time right tackle for Alabama. Wilkin Formby started the previous two games for Alabama due to Proctor's injury on the left side, while Elijah Pritchett started one game at left tackle for Alabama.
Formby struggled against South Florida, and Pritchett entered the lineup for the final six plays of Alabama's offense in that game. Alabama scored three touchdowns in the six plays Pritchett was on the field, with two of them being run plays to the right side of the formation.
If everything holds, Pritchett is expected to start at right tackle against Wisconsin. Formby will still earn playing time, with the two slated to rotate at right tackle. That was the original plan for Alabama's matchup against Western Kentucky prior to Proctor suffering an injury in pregame warmups.
The projected starting offensive line for Alabama against Wisconsin is:
LT: Kadyn Proctor
LG: Tyler Booker
C: Parker Brailsford
RG: Jaeden Roberts
RT: Elijah Pritchett
Wilkin Formby will rotate with Pritchett at right tackle throughout the game until one of them firmly grasps the starting spot.
