The 2022 NFL regular season has come to a close and the playoffs are upon us and for the first time ever the NFL Players Association has released its own All-Pro team, allowing the players to select and honor their peers for strong 2023 seasons.

Three former Alabama Crimson Tide players were honored by the NFLPA, Josh Jacobs, Pat Surtain and Minkah Fitzpatrick.

Last season's AFC Championship winning quarterback and 2019 Heisman trophy winner Joe Burrow recently joined Colin Cowherd on his podcast and gave very special praise to Surtain.

Burrow called Surtain "tough" and said that "he's the best" when talking to Cowherd about the top corners in the game right now. He put Denzel Ward and Sauce Gardner in Surtain's class but made sure to note that the second year former Alabama man was the best of them all.

Surtain just finished his second year in the NFL after being drafted ninth overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. He's tallied 118 tackles with three for a loss, he's been credited with 24 pass breakups with six interceptions and has even forced a fumble in just 33 games for the Denver Broncos.

For his efforts in the league he was honored by being named to the PFWA All Rookie Team and the Pro Bowl in his rookie year. He's doubled down with another Pro Bowl selection in his second year and he's earned the respect of the entire NFL.

The former Crimson Tide superstar faces an interesting offseason as the Denver Broncos are once again looking for a new head coach, their third in three years. No matter who is at the helm in the Mile High City next year they will have a defensive stalwart in Surtain for years to come.
