Former Alabama Running Back Arrested
A former Alabama running back was arrested late on Monday night, being charged with an "Extreme DUI."
According to Easton Bulter on X, former Alabama running back Eddie Lacy was arrested on Monday with an "Extreme DUI", a BAC over 0.20, and an open container in the vehicle.
Lacy was released from jail early on Tuesday morning.
Lacy was a member of two national champion teams at the University of Alabama, spending three seasons at the Capstone before declaring for the 2013 NFL draft.
Lacy played in 38 games for Alabama, totaling 2,740 yards from scrimmage and 32 total touchdowns. Lacy was drafted No. 61 overall in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft by the Green Bay Packers.
He was instrumental in Alabama's 2011 and 2012 championship seasons, totaling 157 yards from scrimmage and two touchdowns in Alabama's 42-14 win over Notre Dame in the BCS National Championship in January 2013.
Lacy spent four seasons in Green Bay and one in Seattle for the Seahawks. In the NFL, Lacy totaled 4,561 yards from scrimmage and 29 touchdowns from scrimmage. In his rookie season for the Packers, Lacy totaled 1,435 yards from scrimmage and 11 rushing touchdowns. He was named to the Pro Bowl, an AP All-Pro Second Team nomination, and won Offensive Rookie of the Year in the NFL.
Lacy struggled with weight issues in the NFL, and ultimately, it led to his departure from the league.
