4-star safety and Alabama Crimson Tide early enrollee, Tony Mitchell has been arrested in Holmes County, Fla. on drug charges.

Mitchell and his passenger, Christophere Lewis of Valley Grande, Ala., were pulled over in Bonifay, Fla. on March 15. During the stop, their vehicle was search and enough marijuana and accessories were recovered to charge the pair with both "possession of marijuana with the intent to sell and/or deliver."

Lewis was also charged with the carrying of a concealed firearm without a permit.

The Holmes County Sheriff's department put out a statement via the department's Facebook page.

"On March 15th, deputies with the Holmes County Sheriff's Office conducted a traffic stop on E Indiana St. Contact was made with the driver, Antonio Mitchell of Alabaster, AL, and passenger Christophere Lewis of Valley Grande, AL.

"During the stop, deputies detected the odor of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. When asked if there was marijuana in the vehicle, Mitchell produced a baggie of marijuana from the passenger floorboard. Both Mitchell and Lewis were taken into custody.
"A search of the vehicle produced an additional significant amount of marijuana, a set of scales, a loaded handgun between the passenger seat and center console, and a large amount of cash.
"Both subjects were transported to the Holmes County Jail. Antonio Mitchell is charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to sell and/or deliver. Christophere Lewis is charged with possession of marijuana with the intent to sell and/or deliver, and carrying a concealed firearm without a permit," said the department.
