The last of the dust is settling in the pursuit of justice for Tuscaloosa native and former Crimson Tide running back Brian Robinson, Jr. Robinson was shot twice in the leg during an attempted carjacking near the 1000 block of H Street Northeast in Washington, DC in late August, just as the NFL regular season was about to get going.

In early November, Metropolitan Police announced they had arrested a 17-year-old in connection with the shooting of Robinson. Just days later, the department announced the arrest of an additional 15-year-old suspect.

Per the Washington Post, that second juvenile suspect has now plead guilty to attempted robbery in the case of Robinson as well as an additional involuntary manslaughter charge from an unrelated incident that occurred on Oct. 3.

According to the Post article, the motive behind the attempted robbery was that the teen wanted Robinson's Dodge Challenger Hellcat, a widely coveted sports coupe that makes over 700 horsepower.

“I was trying to get the man’s Hellcat. I wasn’t thinking. It was wrong," said the juvenile suspect.

The 17-year-old juvenile arrested was the one Robinson reportedly wrestled a gun away from, prompting the younger suspect to fire his own weapon. The older juvenile suspect plead guilty to assault with a dangerous weapon and carrying a pistol without a license.

Robinson made a full recovery by week five of the NFL season and slowly became the feature back for the Washington Commanders as the season progressed. He finished his rookie campaign with 797 rushing yards and three total touchdowns in 12 games.
