Investigators with the Tuscaloosa Police Department and the area's multi-agency Violent Crimes Unit have released photos of a man and vehicle who may be connected to a shooting at a church Sunday afternoon.

Captain Jack Kennedy of the Tuscaloosa Violent Crimes Unit says a small four-door car, possibly maroon in color, stopped adjacent to the Central Church of Christ at 304 Hargrove Road in Tuscaloosa at approximately 8:20 p.m Sunday, December 1st. An occupant of the vehicle fired a shot into the back entrances of the church before leaving the scene.

There were classes and Bible studies being conducted inside, but no one was hurt. A glass door was shattered by the bullet.

The Tuscaloosa Police Department initially responded to the call, and the VCU is now investigating the case. Anyone who recognizes the car or suspect or has any other information about the shooting is asked to contact the Tuscaloosa Police Department at (205) 349-2121 or the Violent Crimes Unit at (205) 464-8690.
