If You’re Headed To The Beach On Spring Break, You Better Behave
Indeed, You Better Behave! Police in several Alabama beach cities are letting you know about a "zero tolerance" policy of misbehavior during Spring Break. Those include the police departments of Gulf Shores and Orange beach, who issued warning letters this week through social media outlets like Facebook.
The letters emphasize that the cities are determined to preserve public safety, and the quality of life for their locals. Cities are also banning alcohol possession on their beaches. Other possible infractions include: digging large holes with steel shovels in beach sand, jumping off balconies, and sleeping in cars.
Police are expected to increase patrols in anticipation of the college Spring Break season, which kicks off next week, (March 3rd), and continues through mid-April. Police report that they logged several hundred arrests last year, and hope for a much less number of arrests this year.
