There is also the threat of heavy rainfall across, widespread hazardous flooding issues, and the threat of tornadoes in Florida. As Ian tracks it will also bring conditions to Georiga and the Carolinas.

Weather Outlook for West, Central Alabama

As of right now due to the shift in Ian’s track, “most of the rain associated with Ian will remain east of Alabama, although some rain is possible near the Georgia border Saturday,” said Spann.

Spann said that “it now looks like the rain shield associated with Ian will stay east of Alabama. Some rain is possible Saturday near the Georgia border, but most of the state will be dry with a partly to mostly sunny sky.”

The National Weather Service in Birmingham reports that we could see “sustained winds from 10 to 10 miles per hour with gusts up to 30 miles per hour with weather winds on Friday and Saturday. Also, rainfall should be limited to “east of 1-65 on Friday and Saturday between ¼ to ½ inch.”
