Moving sucks. I think we can all agree on that. You have NO IDEA how much stuff you've accumulated over the years until it's time to pack up and move. I am just a few days away from moving into a new place, and HOOOOOOO BOY, I am realizing how close I am to being a TLC special.

Case and point: my closet. Your girl is a self-admitted clothes freak. I LOVE to shop and create new outfits, so there's always something in my Amazon cart. This all seems very cool... and then you have to organize your crap before you move and you see the full extent of your clothing addiction.

I knew I had to prune my wardrobe, so I purged all the stuff I haven't been wearing as of late. (Full disclosure: I am ashamed to admit that like 45% of these pieces still had tags attached. I HAVE A PROBLEM, OKAY?) I was thisclose to just tossing out my mountain of clothes, but then I had a thought: Meg, you idiot. Take it to Plato's Closet.

I shop at Plato's Closet all the time. This Tuscaloosa consignment store is my favorite place to get amazing deals on cute clothes and accessories. I thought if I am buying from Plato's, I might as well SELL to Plato's.

Here's how it works: you bring your clean, gently-used clothing and/or accessories to Plato's Closet. They'll peruse what you bring and decide if they can sell it in the store, and then they'll pay you in cash or store credit.

I dropped off my box of clothes yesterday around noon, and a few hours later one of their crew members called to tell me they were ready to make me an offer. They didn't take all my stuff, but I made like $52.40 from clothes with which I was literally doing NOTHING.

Awesome, right?

I'm such a fan of Plato's Closet. Their Instagram account is a great source of style inspiration, and again: it's literally my favorite place to get great deals on clothes in Tuscaloosa. I also like buying gently used clothes because I know I am helping to reduce my carbon footprint.

VERY COOL.

And... I know I have said this before... but the style inspo here is just... *chef's kiss*

Have you sold to Plato's Closet? What was your experience like? Do you like shopping there? If so, I'll probably see you soon--just remind me not to fill my new apartment with even more clothes!
