Happy National Radio Day! From Tab
I remember being 10 or 11 years old calling into stations around town and around the national, doing whatever it takes to be on-air. It's funny thinking about that bright eyed young redhead dreaming about being on the radio and now.... I'm here. My life long dream of talking to masses and playing kickass music is a real and tangible thing. It shocks me that I'm actually getting paid for something that I love doing on a day-to-day basis.
It's weird, man. People might not understand the time effort and all the little guys behind the scenes it takes to have a successful broadcast, promoting, marketing, engineering and selling for a station to be successful.
Radio for me has created these weird, funny and often insane families that I've created with listeners and coworkers I've had in this industry. I'm so honored to be here in Tuscaloosa and drop my corny jokes and tell you background about each and every band I play on ALT 1017.
Without this avenue of work, I would probably be a miserable dude working a 9 to 5 with a drinking problem and a few baby mommas. So, I owe it to you all out there for my success and future successes. Daddy loves you and keep on sending me songs, stories and keep calling me while you're trashed on The Strip.
Roll Tide and Thank You.
