Haim Fire Agent After Receiving One-Tenth of a Male Artist’s Festival Fee
Let's say this much: If you mess with Haim's money, they might just go HAM on you.
In a new interview with Grazia magazine, the trio of sisters recall committing to a recent festival gig that came with noticeably low pay. Still, they weren't too shaken up by the number — they said it was totally within context.
“We had been told that our fee was very low because you played at the festival in the hope you’d get played on the radio,” Danielle recalled.
But that context very quickly shifted.
”We didn’t think twice about it, but we later found out that [a male artist] was getting paid 10 times more than us. And because of that we fired our agent," she said.
Damn.
Alana went on to explain that it was because of the sisters' implicit trust and tight bond that they were able to unearth the pay disparity and address it accordingly.
“That’s why I love my sisters so much. I trust them with my f------ life. We’re all in this together,” she said. “But it’s scary out there and it’s f----- up. It’s f----- up not even to be paid half the same amount. But to be paid a tenth of that amount of money? It was insane.”
