Congrats to fun. for being recognized for great music at the Grammys, with major category wins for Best Song and Best New Artist. I still remember the first time I heard the song "We Are Young." A co-worker sent me the video clip to check out for possible airplay consideration. I was instantly hooked and knew it would be huge hit! An anthem of youth which was a signature breakthrough #1 hit song for the band.

Success continued for fun. with the follow up single release "Some Nights." I hear influences from the band Queen on this song and vocals reminiscent of Freddie Mercury and at times T-Pain? Yes, T-Pain with the auto-tune feature used in parts of the song.

Now, fun. is on their third single release, "Carry On." A sing along bar song feel with a throwback guitar solo bridge. Really, how may songs have you heard lately which have a guitar rip like that? Haha It's cool and the song appears to be another major hit for the guys.

Just imagine seeing fun. live?! I bet they are amazing live and they're coming to Tuscaloosa Amphitheater on September 16th with special guests Tegan and Sara. Tickets go on sale Friday (2/15) at 10 a.m. through Ticketmaster and the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater Box Office.

At B101.7, we have your chance to Beat The Box Office and WIN tickets all this week! It's Greg Thomas, just listen in the afternoon and I'll let you know when to call the studios. Here's the number to plug in your phone 205-345-1017.
