Basketball season is here! There's nothing like a solid promotion to tip off the season and fill the seats with screaming fans!

A couple of these promotions have caught my attention. Over at Kansas State they will feed you bacon for coming out to the women's basketball game. Wow, who doesn't love bacon? But, why bacon? Why not say a free pretzel or corndog?

Kansas State athletics spokesperson Randy Peterson told ESPN:

We wanted to do something food-related to make a splash. We've done free pizza before, but every college kid has access to pizza. It's a little harder to get bacon.

Then, there is Jeff Walz and the beer offer. The Louisville women's basketball coach made the offer of free beer for the first 2,500 fans. Whoa, a free beer?

Louisville's Jeff Walz said:

It’s a little way to say thanks to all our adults who come and support us, and we’re just trying to get some of our fans who haven’t come out to come on out one time and get a drink and enjoy the ballgame and hopefully grab the attention of a few more fans.

Which is better?  Here are the results of an ESPN poll:

Utah, the one state that would take bacon over beer. See the complete state by state count from the ESPN poll by clicking here.

What would you take? If you were the 2,501st fan for free beer night, would you be mad that you didn't go to free bacon night instead? What if they combined the two into free bacon beer night?

Oh, here's an idea, bacon cheerleader night! Sure, take a look below at the possible cheerleader uniform for the big occasion:

Okay, I'm getting a little carried away. How about our poll, which is the better promotion, free bacon or beer?
