The Associated Press has made its NFL All-Pro selections for the 2019 season. The University of Alabama leads all universities with four selections on the team. Defensive backs Marlon Humphrey of the Ravens and Minkah Fitzpatrick of the Dolphins and Steelers, running back Derrick Henry of the Titans and wide receiver Julio Jones of the Falcons.

In Fitzpatrick’s second year in the league he was selected to the All-Pro first team as a safety. Fitzpatrick spent two games with the Miami Dolphins before being traded to Pittsburgh Steelers. He registered 68 tackles, nine passes broken up, five interceptions, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and scored two defensive touchdowns. The Steelers were fifth in the NFL in yards allowed per game and third in the league in passing yards allowed per game. Fitzpatrick was selected to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career.

Humphrey was selected to the All-Pro first team for the first time in his three year career with the Baltimore Ravens. Humphrey was selected as an additional defensive back to the first team as Stephon Gilmore of the New England Patriots and Tre’Davious White of the Buffalo Bills earned starting cornerback selections. Humphrey finished 2019 with 65 tackles, 14 passes defended, three interceptions, three fumble recoveries, two forced fumbles and two defensive touchdowns. He helped the Ravens in holding opponents to fourth fewest yards per game and the sixth fewest passing yards allowed per game. Humphrey was selected to his first career Pro Bowl this season.

Henry was selected to the second team behind the Carolina Panthers’s Christian McCaffrey. 2019 is the first time Henry has been selected to the All-Pro team in his career. Henry finished the season leading the league in rushing yards with 1,540 and tied for the league lead in rushing touchdowns with 16. Henry accomplished this despite missing one game with a hamstring problem. He won the AFC Offensive Player of the Week in week 17 for his 211 rushing yards and three touchdowns against the Houston Texans to clinch a playoff spot for the Tennessee Titans. 2019 was Henry’s second consecutive season with over 1,000 yards rushing and double digit touchdowns on the ground. Henry was also selected to the Pro Bowl for the first time in his career.

Jones was selected to the second-team for the third time in his career, being picked in 2017 and 2018 also. He was selected just behind first-teamers Michael Thomas of the New Orleans Saints and DeAndre Hopkins of the Houston Texans. Jones finished the year sixth in the league in receptions with 99, second in the league in receiving yards with 1,394 and recorded six receiving touchdowns. Jones has now cleared 1,000 yards receiving in six straight seasons for the Atlanta Falcons. He was also selected to the Pro Bowl for the seventh time in his nine year career.
