Former Gordo Star Tanner Bailey Makes Acting Debut In South Carolina Social Media Video
College football programs around the country are gearing up for the 2022-23 season as it's just a few months away. Programs everywhere are welcoming new players as summer semesters are getting underway.
The South Carolina Gamecocks introduced its fans to the incoming freshman and transferees by welcoming them to Columbia in a unique way. The Gamecock social media team remixed the classic television intro "Full House".
Gordo's own and one of South Carolina new quarterbacks Tanner Bailey can be seen a few times in the introduction videos. The former Greenwave star can be seen chasing a loose ball, petting a dog with a teammate and being sat at a cafeteria to enjoy a meal.
"The acting on my part was pretty simple, but it took a few takes to get the dog to cooperate," said Bailey on his role in the video and his transition to college. "Summer is going well so far. Workouts and conditioning are tough, but my body is acclimating well. The South Carolina media team is awesome, they did a great job."
Bailey was a highly successful quarterback for the Gordo Greenwave, leading them into the playoffs in each year as a starter. He joins a quarterback room that will likely be led by Oklahoma transfer Spencer Rattler.
Bailey wasn't the only "actor" with Tuscaloosa ties to appear in the introduction video, Jody Wright also appears. Wright is the new South Carolina tight ends coach after spending the last three seasons in the NFL. He served as the Crimson Tide's director of player personnel from 2015-17, winning two national titles under Nick Saban.
