Welcome to another B101.7 Flashback Friday Spotlight. This week, we welcome a new sponsor, Townsend Honda! Hey, this little feature is going places with the support of an actual sponsor. Look out world, this is the big time!

Okay, enough about that. Let's get to the spotlight. This week, looking ahead to another major show coming to Tuscaloosa Amphitheater, and at the same looking back to when this artist was the lead singer of one the biggest pop rock groups of the 90s. I'm referring to Darius Rucker of Hootie & the Blowfish fame. He'll be in town next Thursday night with tickets still available through Ticketmaster and the amphitheater box office. Even better, listen in the afternoon all week for a chance to win a pair of tickets!! Plus, a bonus chance through the B101.7 Insiders Club. Click here for that.

Now, before Darius Rucker went Country, he was a member of Hootie & the Blowfish, which was formed in 1986 while attending the University of South Carolina. That makes Darius a Gamecocks fan, he also cheers for the Cincinnati Reds and the Miami Dolphins. This brings us to the 1995 hit, 'Only Wanna Be With You.' The third single from the breakthrough album Cracked Rear View. There's a line in the song which says, 'the Dolphins make me cry.' Yes, a reference to his beloved NFL team from Miami. A quick glance of the song's video and you can see how passionate Darius is about sports.

If you're like me, you're hoping Darius Rucker will play some of these Hootie songs that we all love!
