A totally different race concept is coming, one that pairs people with their pets in team work to compete in the Druid City Iron Dog! It's happening Saturday, May 14th at Lake Lurleen State Park.

You've probably heard of an Iron Man competition. These races feature three phases, running, bicycling, and swimming. The Druid City Iron Dog is also about running (or walking for 2 miles), an agility course, and dog-only swimming (optional). Just imagine all the fun, while getting exercise on a beautiful May morning at the park!

To give you an idea of what the agility part of the course will be like, take a look at the video demonstrations from Tuscaloosa's 'Get Out and Walk the Dog' Facebook page, here.

The registration cost is $35 for your team, and includes a picnic lunch afterwards. The money raised supports the Humane Society of West Alabama and Tuscaloosa Metro Animal Shelter.
