Edelweiss German Cafe and Bakery Closes

After 12 years as a part of Temerson Square downtown, a Tuscaloosa business has closed its doors for the final time. Edelweiss German Cafe and Bakery's last day of business was yesterday (Sunday, June 2).

Why has this wonderful spot closed? I came across the post below on Facebook this weekend, and that's how I learned that Edelweiss had closed. This really breaks my heart.

I LOVED eating at Edelweiss. My favorite was the Andy's Special--a juicy bratwurst with a soft pretzel, a side of sauerkraut, and plenty of spicy mustard. I couldn't say no to their apple strudel either... I can't believe one of my favorite restaurants is gone.
