Druid City Pride’s Equality on the River Canceled for 2020 Year
Druid City Pride of Tuscaloosa canceled their annual Equality on the River event for the 2020 year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The news about the cancellation comes from the president of Druid City Pride, Russell Howard.
"We will continue to watch the numbers of positive COVID-19 cases and work with the city of Tuscaloosa to make a determination that will benefit the health and safety of all those who attend," Howard said.
DCP scheduled a Pride festival event for Oct. 4, 2020, at Government Plaza in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
The organization hopes to host other events before the date of the Pride festival and plans to announce any final plans for activities on social media. You can find updates about future events held by the non-profit by visiting their Facebook page, Druid City Pride.
"We remain cautiously optimistic that our festival will be an in-person event held at Government Plaza," said Russell Howard.
