I recently had the chance to taste some of the menu items at the new Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux in Tuscaloosa and I'm amazed. The food was so good!

So we often ask if Tuscaloosa would ever get something new. It always seems like we keep getting the same restaurants just in different locations. The Druid City's newest addition is definitely something different. It's also something I know a lot of people will love because I've tried the food myself.

Something I learned quickly about Tuscaloosa is that the residents love good food. Walk-On's Sports Bistreaux is a new restaurant in Tuscaloosa set to have its grand opening on May 31, 2021. All of their food is Louisiana-inspired and prepared in a from-scratch kitchen.

I was able to enjoy a complimentary meal ahead of their grand opening and was blown away! As soon as I walked inside, I was met with smiling faces, arcade games, and huge big screen tvs all around the place.

For my appetizer, I ended up getting Boudin Balls. If you've never had or heard of these amazing gems before let me tell you, they're so good! Think of large hush puppies filled with a spicy pork and rice blend. The dipping sauce was the cherry on top. I used the famous boom boom sauce for mine.

After I devoured the appetizer, it was time for the main course. I ordered the stuffed burger. Usually, I try to stick to the theme of the restaurant when ordering but the burger was calling my name! It did not disappoint. It was delicious and I tried Louisiana street corn for the first time.

The burger was amazing and the service was even better. Shout out to Sam for all of the knowledge she gave to me. Mostly about the menu items lol. Everything sounded so great and she patiently explained almost everything about nearly the whole menu for me. I liked how she explained the napkins to me. I noticed them as soon as I grabbed my seat.

As the story goes, the founders of the restaurant Jack Warner and Brandon Landry sketched the vision of the floorplan on the back of a napkin. They were both walk-ons for the LSU Basketball team, hence the name of the restaurant.

I will definitely be back to Walk-On's, there was so much I didn't get a chance to experience. I want to visit their massive bar and play arcade games. I'm a big kid!
