Drake’s ‘One Dance’ Becomes First Song to Hit One Billion Streams on Spotify
Drake's mammoth Views single "One Dance" may have been bafflingly overlooked by the Grammys this year (it somehow failed to earn a nod for Song of the Year and Record of the Year, despite being entirely unavoidable all across radio) but it did make waves on Spotify.
"One Dance" -- which became Spotify's most played song back in October with over 882 million streams -- is now the first song to ever hit one billion streams on the music service, according to Billboard.
The track also held the No. 1 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart for ten weeks, and Drake's album Views debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 when it dropped back in June.
Suffice to say, 2016’s been a pretty solid year for the former Degrassi star, even if Rihanna did curve him at the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.
