A bill legalizing medical marijuana in Alabama could be ready for the next legislative session. WBRC Fox 6 News reports Alabama's Medical Marijuana Commission will be ready to introduce its bill before the December 1st deadline. The bill would make medical marijuana legal within the state and allow licensed physicians to issue medical marijuana cards to patients.

Do you think legalizing medical marijuana is needed in Alabama? I think our state is in dire need of a new option for patients. Opiate overdoses are on the rise, and medical marijuana could be a safe alternative for those with chronic pain issues--not to mention patients undergoing chemotherapy, radiation, or other difficult treatments.
