Alabama head coach Nick Saban set the college football world on fire on Wednesday night in Birmingham. Saban, joined by Crimson Tide basketball coach Nate Oats at an event to celebrate the World Games starting in 50 days, got very specific while talking name, image and likeness and its affect on college football.

Saban addressed his good friend Jimbo Fisher over allegations that the Texas A&M Aggies purchased "every player on its team" to attain the No. 1 recruiting class in America last season.

Saban continued his thoughts on the landscape of college football by discussing the University of Miami's involvement with name, image and likeness and even went on to single out Jackson State for allegedly paying $1 million for 5-star recruit Travis Hunter.

Hunter, signed with Jackson State on December 15 after being committed to Florida State for over a year's time.

The 5-star cornerback cited the rich tradition of HBCU's and the chance to be coached by Deion Sanders, many have speculated that a lucrative NIL deal was the game-changing circumstance that led to Hunter's surprise flip.

It did not take long for Coach Prime to respond to Saban's statements. The NFL-Hall-of-Famer took to Twitter to say that Saban lied to the public and that Hunter was not persuaded to join the Southwestern Athletic Conference by an NIL deal.

Sanders backed his program and stated he would be addressing Saban's comments in depth tomorrow, being Thursday, May 19.

According to reports in the Clarion Ledger published shortly after Hunter's signing, there was no NIL deal officially brokered between Barstool Sports and Travis Hunter, however in February the cornerback did sign a deal with black-owned coffee company J5 Caffe.
