CAPS Tuscaloosa 27th Annual Golf Tournament

It’s our 27^th Annual Golf Tournament.  The tournament will take place August 7^th at Tall Pines in Woodland Forest.  9 holes will be played during the day and 9 holes will be played at night.  We have a goal of 15 teams of 4.  Currently we have 8 or 9 teams committed.  This is our largest fundraiser of the year.  All proceeds go abused and sexually abused children.  We will award 1 – 4^th place winners.  There will be food, lots of prices and an auction.  The cost is $125.00 per player of $400.00 per team.  Last year we had 13 teams.

The purpose of Child Abuse Prevention Services of Tuscaloosa is to provide education and awareness programs for the prevention of child abuse and neglect.CAPS provides prevention and treatment education in an effort to break the cycle of child maltreatment, so that children can have a healthy childhood. They offer school and community based programs. Also, they provide our services to Pre K-12th grade students in Tuscaloosa County and City School systems. Through the community based prevention programs they provide educational programs: Shaken Baby Syndrome, Nurturing Parenting classes, Nurturing Baby/Safe Sleep program, Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, Understanding Prenatal Drug Exposure, Sudden unexplained Infant Death and Signs of Child Abuse and How to Report. All of their community programs are offered to various clubs, groups, agencies, recovery shelters, and organizations. They receive referrals for our Nurturing Parenting and Nurturing Baby/Safe Sleep programs from local agencies and courts. Our school-based programs are delivered in the classrooms of local schools in 30 to 40 minutes.
