However, the country star says that -- with a little help from Guy Clark -- she did mange to get him one present that made his face light up.

"You know, I'm all for freedom, but I think, if you're dead, you don't have any freedoms at all," Isbell says in a new interview.

Isbell is one of several artists contributing to the soundtrack for the new Netflix film 'The Ice Road'.

Lucinda Williams and the Drive-By Truckers are just two of the acts scheduled to perform this year.
