Alabama received a big commitment through the transfer portal when they landed former Ohio State wide receiver Jameson Williams in May. The Missouri high school record holder in the 300m hurdles gave the Crimson Tide a new explosive playmaker on the outside, filling a void left by DeVonta Smith and Jaylen Waddle.

Players and coaches raved about Williams during summer workouts and he has carried that into the fall. “I think he's going to add a lot of speed to our offense, and I think he's going to help make us more dynamic,” said Nick Saban during SEC Media Days.

Williams and quarterback Bryce Young developed a strong chemistry in fall camp and showcased it week one against the Miami Hurricanes. The junior caught four passes for a game-high 126 yards and one touchdown from 94-yards out to tie for the second-longest receiving touchdown in program history. Williams has immediately given the Alabama offense another big play target to pair with John Metchie III. He is a smooth route runner and is excellent in space.

"It did not take a lot time," Williams said. "We all became brothers quick The first day I got here, we all linked up. Everybody showed me love when they saw I committed to Alabama on Instagram. So, everything was simple. We just had to go to work."

In the Tide's home opener against Mercer, Williams hauled in three receptions for 31 yards and reached the endzone for the second consecutive week. Against Florida on Saturday, Williams caught four passes for a game-high 61 yards. Williams leads the Crimson Tide in receiving yards (218), is tied for the lead in touchdown receptions (2) and ranks sixth in the SEC in yards per catch (19.8).

The Missouri native has quickly found a home in Tuscaloosa. "Everybody in the receiver room is family to me," Williams said. "We compete with each other every day, we get a chance to play against other guys. We are happy for each other. Whoever makes a play, we are going to dap them up. We are going to chest bump. We are going to do whatever we can to celebrate."

After being caught in a deep Ohio State wide receiver room, Williams is showing the entire country just how talented he is.
