If you haven't visited Anthony's Italian Kitchen yet, you've got some serious explaining to do. Seriously--Anthony's Italian Kitchen is the best new restaurant I've visited in a long time. It's so good, y'all. SO GOOD.

Antony's Italian Kitchen is located at 1351 McFarland Boulevard in Tuscaloosa, in the same place FIG used to be. I'd never had a chance to stop by--until last night.

My BFF (hey, Tia!) took me to Anthony's for dinner yesterday. It was amazing. AMAZING. Everything about our meal was great--from the friendly, attentive staff to the charming decor and the incredible food.

We started our meal with Anthony's Spinach and Feta Cheese Bread, and HOO BOY. I could eat 10,000+ orders. It's a pizza dough that's coated in garlic butter and topped with spinach, cheese, and feta cheese--it's basically everything that I love most, but in the form of cheesy carbohydrates. Tia and I split the order, and she's lucky I love her so much; if my dining companion had been anyone else, I would have stabbed his/her hand with a fork for trying to step to my feta bread. Food is NOT a game, people.

But I digress... we each ordered a small pizza so that we'd have a chance to try more of Anthony's incredible menu. Tia had a traditional pizza topped with pepperoni, cheese, olives, and banana peppers, and I ordered a white pizza with bacon and spinach.

Man, that pizza was delicious. My pizza had a white sauce instead of the traditional marinara, and I totally made the right call in ordering it. I was really torn between ordering a pizza or one of their pasta dishes--their entire menu is enticing.

And, because my restaurant motto is and forever shall be GO BIG OR GO HOME, we ordered dessert. We split an order of Bama Balls--they're cream cheese bites wrapped in dough, baked, and then served warm with a caramel, maple, and pecan glaze. That dessert was everything. Anthony's does not currently offer Bama Balls in orders of "truckload," "butt-ton," or "wheelbarrow;" believe me, I asked.

Anthony's Italian Kitchen is locally owned and operated, which means a lot to me, as I like to support businesses in Tuscaloosa and Northport. Another remarkable thing about Anthony's--proceeds go to support mission work overseas. Here's more from their website:

The owners of Anthony’s Italian Restaurant have a history of running faster-paced restaurants. They recently decided to slow it down, after their son came up with the idea to open their own Italian restaurant.

Their son, Anthony Privette, is pursuing a career as a missionary. He’s currently in Uganda with The Master Cares, a group of leaders who help families rebuild their country while also spreading the word of God.

Much of the proceeds collected from Anthony’s Italian Kitchen will go to Anthony to help him continue his efforts.

You need to check out Anthony's Italian Kitchen as soon as possible. You won't regret it. All I ask is that you bring me more Spinach and Feta Bread.
