Though she passed away five years ago, many people continue to marvel at the talent behind Amy Winehouse.

The eclectic songstress' legacy remains intact because of her soulful catalog. Today, millions of fans expressed their love for Amy on what would have been her 33rd birthday, and reminisced and why she'll always be appreciated.

Winehouse died of accidental alcohol poisoning in 2011, and in August, it was announced that The Amy Winehouse Foundation had opened a home for recovering female addicts in her memory.

The jazzy-voiced singer rose to fame following the release of her debut album Frank in 2003. Anchored by soulful cuts strongly influenced by her love of jazz, such as "Valerie" and "Stronger Than Me," the album introduced her as a unique talent to watch for. But she catapulted to superstardom with the release of her 2006 sophomore effort, Black to Black, which featured modern classics including the title track, "Tears Dry On Their Own" and "Love Is a Losing Game."
