Clubs and organizations frequently raise money selling Boston butts, donuts and other foodstuffs for charitable reasons. But unfortunately, there are less scrupulous people who play on the willingness of residents in the area to help a cause by purchasing such items.

One of those scams is reportedly being perpetrated by a man who is going door-to-door in neighborhoods of South Tuscaloosa, along Highway 69 South (and reportedly other areas). Residents there report this man has made several rounds purportedly selling Boston butts and donuts as a fundraiser for MJ’s Academy of Dance.

The man also claims Robertson’s BBQ is doing the cooking. There is no record of that taking place so apparently, the man is raising the funds only for himself.

Tuscaloosa Police have been notified that this man is conducting a scam on residents.

If you believe you have been a victim of this scam you should call Tuscaloosa Police at 205-349-2121.
