College basketball is just around the corner and with that schedules are being finalized all over the country. COVID-19 has thrown many of the previously scheduled non-conference games into question but one event that has been confirmed in the SEC BIG12 Challenge.

This season will mark the eighth consecutive year of the event and this season's event will take place on Jan. 30. The Alabama Crimson Tide is scheduled to hit the road to play the Oklahoma Sooners.

Alabama will make its fifth appearance in the event and holds a 3-1 record so far in the challenge. Alabama will take on Oklahoma for the second time in the challenge having defeated the Sooners at home in 2018 80-73. This will be the second time Alabama will be on the road for this event after losing to Baylor in Waco 73-68 in 2019.

The SEC has only won the event one time thus far and currently is losing the overall record to the Big 12 40-30.

Alabama and Oklahoma will meet for the ninth time in the schools history with the Sooners owning a 5-3 advantage over the Crimson Tide.

This event becomes the second non-conference event that the Crimson Tide is confirmed for after the Maui Invitational was relocated to Asheville, North Carolina. Oats and his staff are working on finalizing the remainder of the schedule after COVID-19 forced alterations to the prior schedule.
