Alabama State Legislature Officially Designates the Sweet Potato as Our Official State Vegetable
The great State of Alabama has now selected an official state vegetable.
On Tuesday, the Alabama Legislature decided that the humble sweet potato would be the one vegetable to rule them all. The bill passed 94 to 4.

Isn't it great that we can't enact legislation that, you know, MATTERS? I, for one, am THRILLED that my elected representatives chose to spend their time voting for a sweet potato instead of creating an education lottery, addressing issues of social injustice, or repealing the state tax on groceries?
