Alabama Sets New Record with 21 Recruits from the ESPN 300
Even with seven straight classes ranked No. 1 in the nation, Alabama accomplished something on National Signing Day that's never happened in recruiting.
Out of the 25 commitments in the Crimson Tide's 2017 class, 21 of those are ranked in the ESPN 300. The prior record was 19.
Alabama broke the record with the announcement by LaBryan Ray that he was headed to Tuscaloosa, but Nick Saban added to the total number when wide receiver Devonta Smith picked the Crimson Tide over LSU.
A total of 22 players have already sent their letter of intent to Alabama but this class is expected to be a unanimous top-ranked class nationally. Not only is this class as deep as ever, but 12 players are already on campus and as many as 16 might go through spring camp with the team.
Tide 102.9 will be discussing National Signing Day all afternoon and through the remainder of the week so follow along live from wherever you are with the radioPup app.
