The Alabama Crimson Tide football program's 2021 fall camp is in full swing. On Saturday the Tide held its first fall inter-squad scrimmage in Bryant Denny Stadium.

Alabama Head Coach Nick Saban revealed after the scrimmage that possible starting offensive lineman Kendall Randolph suffered an ankle injury and did not finish the scrimmage.

"Kendall’s done a really good job. He’s a jack of all trades. He can play every position – center, probably can’t play center, but guard, tackle. He’s played tight end for us before. He’s worked at all those positions in camp. He can play right tackle, he play left tackle. So he’s got a lot of maturity about him. He’s very experienced, knowledgeable player," said Saban. "He sprained his ankle today, so he didn’t get to finish the scrimmage and we hope it’s not anything significant. But he’s really a key to the development of this offensive line because of his experience."

Randolph has appeared in 26 game for the Crimson Tide as an offensive guard, tackle and tight end. After losing Landon Dickerson, Deonte Brown and Alex Leatherwood, Randolph was expected to compete to start on the 2021 offensive line.

The Crimson Tide kicks off against the Miami Hurricanes in three weeks to open the season. Should Randolph's sprained ankle force him to miss extensive time the Tide could turn to freshman JC Latham or sophomore Damieon George to fill the right tackle position.
